Degen.club is an online club management service operating out of Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America. We accept memberships from users in varied locations and therefore comply with laws governing those people including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act of Canada, and various USA states' privacy acts.
When you register for an account at Degen.club we ask for your name and email address. When you login we take note your IP address and login time.
If you choose to register or log in with Google, Yahoo, or Facebook, we receive your email address (when the provider shares it), display name, and—when you register for a new account—your profile photo URL from that provider. We use your email to identify your account, your name to populate your member profile, and your photo only if you complete registration and we save it as your avatar. We store a provider identifier and encrypted OAuth tokens so you can sign in again without a password. We do not receive your Google, Yahoo, or Facebook password.
As you participate in your club's activities on Degen.club, we save your choices and comments. This is so that we can show your choices to you, your organizer, and your fellow club members. This is also so we can evaluate and grade contests and so on.
You have the option to upload an avatar to customize your appearance in club activities. This image is shown to fellow club members and is for cosmetic purposes only.
You may also have the option to list your time zone - this is used to adjust dates and times for your locale.
You may also list your peer-to-peer transfer information. We use that to show your organizer and fellow club members how to transfer back and forth with you. We do not engage in any peer-to-peer transfers directly.
You have access to this information in your Profile page and may change these at any time. You may correct this information there or request Degen.club to correct information. You may request a copy of this data.
The reason you and your club organizer use Degen.club is to make it easier to organize and track club activities. The site could not exist and deliver its core features without keeping track of some of this information.
Degen.club stores this information on secure cloud-based infrastructure hosted in the United States of America. Degen.club stores this information for a duration up to fifty (50) years as a feature of Degen.club is to provide clubs and club organizers with a history of their activity. After that period information may be aggregated or anonymized or removed.
In the event that Degen.club experiences a breach that results in exposure of information to unauthorized parties, Degen.club will notify impacted club organizers and members through direct email communication as well as on-site messaging and notifications.
Degen.club may send transactional email for activities (reminders, results announcements, password resets).
Degen.club offers an optional email newsletter delivered via Buttondown. This is strictly opt-in. If you subscribe, your email address is shared with Buttondown for the purpose of delivering the newsletter. You may unsubscribe at any time through the link included in each message.
Degen.club uses a strictly necessary session cookie so the site can operate for both guests and signed-in members. That session supports login state when you are signed in, security controls such as anti-forgery protection for authenticated actions, and other short-lived application session state needed to deliver the service.
Guests may receive a session cookie when those security or session functions are needed—including when visiting partner funnel pages. Visitors who use the Belly Up Sports partner landing path may have a short-lived referral mark stored only in that same session for the duration of the browser session. This is not a separate multi-day marketing or tracking cookie.
Belly Up Sports: Belly Up Sports is a revenue-share partner. Degen.club offers a dedicated landing and registration path for that partnership. When a referral mark from that path is present in your session at registration, you may be auto-joined to a Belly Up–related club. Partner funnel activity is used for operating and reporting on the partnership; we do not operate a separate Belly Up cookie or share account data with a partner dashboard beyond that funnel.
Degen.club also integrates with the following third-party services to deliver certain features. These integrations are optional and only active when enabled by your club organizer.
Fantasy League Platforms: Degen.club offers integration with MyFantasyLeague, Sleeper, and Yahoo Fantasy Sports. If your club organizer enables this integration, Degen.club will connect to your league account to retrieve league structure, member roster, standings, and results. This connection is authorized by you individually via each platform's process. Information such as username or other credentials may be stored to enable the integration.
Discord: If your club organizer enables this integration, Degen.club may connect to Discord to retrieve channel information and post announcements. Discord user information is not collected.
Buttondown (Email Newsletter): Degen.club uses Buttondown to deliver an optional email newsletter. If you opt in, your email address is shared with Buttondown solely for newsletter delivery. Data handling by Buttondown is governed by their Privacy Policy. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Google Sign-In: Degen.club offers optional registration and login with Google. When you use this feature, Google shares your verified email address, name, and (during new account registration) profile photo URL with Degen.club according to the permissions you grant. Google's handling of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Yahoo Sign-In: Degen.club offers optional registration and login with Yahoo. When you use this feature, Yahoo shares your email address, name, and (during new account registration) profile photo URL with Degen.club according to the permissions you grant. Yahoo's handling of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Facebook Sign-In: Degen.club offers optional registration and login with Facebook. When you use this feature, Facebook shares your user identifier, name, and email address (when available) with Degen.club according to the permissions you grant. We store a provider identifier and encrypted OAuth tokens so you can sign in again without a Degen.club password. Facebook's handling of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Google Gemini (AI): Degen.club uses Google Gemini API to power optional Chalkie AI assistance. When a clubmember uses Chalkie to draft a proposition statement, the text they have typed is sent to Google for processing. When a club organizer uses Chalkie as an organizer assistant, the chat messages and related contest-configuration context are sent to Google for processing. That context can include tool requests and responses that describe contest structure (such as contest identifiers, event titles, outcomes, and choice lists), plus club-level setup hints such as aggregated past entry-fee patterns and the organizer's time zone. These requests are not intended to include member email addresses, passwords, OAuth tokens, or payment credentials; organizers should avoid pasting sensitive personal data into the chat. Google does not use data submitted through the paid Gemini API to train its models. Google's data handling is governed by their Generative AI Terms of Service.
Degen.club may in the future work with analytics partners to analyze patterns of activity. When this changes we will update this document and notify you through on-site messaging.
Degen.club will comply with law enforcement requests for information when lawfully obligated to do so.
In the event that Degen.club is sold, notification will be shared with users through email and on-site messaging and notification.
Degen.club will remove your personal information on request. Use the Contact Us form to let us know or email us at support@degen.club. This will make it so that your name and email address are no longer associated with your club account. Degen.club will respond to these requests within five (5) business days.
This privacy policy is subject to change at any time. We are adding features and capabilities to the Degen.club site. When changes are made, this document is updated and notification is listed on the site.
